Top paragliding lessons in the UK
We provide paragliding lessons and courses all year round and are proud to be the UK’s longest-established paragliding school, with over 30 years experience. We've run thousands of paragliding lessons over the years, teaching everyone from total beginners to British, European and World Champions.
During your first lesson, we aim to get you flying solo by early afternoon. We start off low on the ground and gradually move higher up the hill, allowing you to fly higher and for longer as you grow in skill and confidence. How many times you fly depends only on time, the weather and your willingness to take to the skies.
But that’s just the first step. Take one of our paragliding courses and we will teach you how to soar like a bird and, eventually, qualify to fly unsupervised whenever the conditions are right.

Testimonials
your Paragliding journey
Learning to fly is a dream come true! Here at Fly Sussex we follow the BHPA (British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association) syllabus. This qualification is recognised all over the world and is required to legally fly in the UK.

First flights
We aim to get all of our beginners (whether on a taster day or full course) doing their first flight on day one - so be prepared for some hands-on learning and a physically demanding day!

Ground handling
Ground work for launch and landing is key to flying successfully, safely and confidently and here at Fly Sussex we pride ourselves on providing outstanding ground handling tuition.

Theory
There are three main theory elements to the course - Airmanship, Air law and meteorology. Everything that you need to know will be explained to you in our theory lectures that accompany your tuition. We will also suggest some reading for you to do at home.

Qualifying
The second half of the course (CP) includes the more advanced tasks that you will need to complete in order to qualify. Once you have completed your course and been signed off we will advise you on how to join up with a local club. We also offer further training and refresher courses for qualified pilots.
