Prerequisite for the CP progression course:
– You must hold the BHPA club pilot rating
– You must have your own equipment including wing, harness and helmet (Max 5 years old)
– Be a full annual BHPA member (which ensures you have third party insurance)
– If this is intended as a refresher, you must have flown in the last 3 years. (If it’s been longer than this, we recommend you re-take the CP course.)
Reaching your BHPA Club Pilot qualification marks a massive milestone on your way to becoming an independent pilot. But the transition from school to flying on your own can be daunting. This course is designed to bridge the gap between school and club flying. Please contact us if you have any specific areas you wish to improve on as we are happy to adapt the course to suit your needs.
The course focuses on four main areas; preparation, ground handling, flying skills and airmanship. All of which are outlined in the CP Progression Course logbook which you complete on day one. (We have briefly outlined some of the book below)
There is a significant amount of time dedicated to personal pilot development and decision making so you can confidently go out into a club environment and be self-sufficient and safe.
Fly Sussex instructors are passionate about ground handling and we pride ourselves on our students control on take off. We want you to be safe on the ground and in the air!
